BIO :

Shelley is a Private Client Solicitor at Archibald Sharp & Son in Glasgow, advising clients on trusts, executries and estate planning. She chairs the Law Society of Scotland Journal Committee and also sits on the Society’s Environmental Law Committee. She completed her TCPD through SLAS at the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow in 2023, is a WS Society affiliate and is currently undertaking STEP studies. Before returning to law, Shelley worked as a national newspaper journalist.

James Hotchkis works in the Nairn office of the firm R&R Urquhart LLP. He was previously a Partner with Macgregor & Co, before that firm merged with R & R Urquhart in 2002. James’ work covers Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Executries, and generally private client work.

BIO:

Nicola is a Senior Associate in Private Client and assists clients in the administration of executry estates including estates where there is an inheritance tax liability and reliefs may need to be claimed. Nicola advises clients on succession planning matters which includes providing for vulnerable beneficiaries and advising on complex family relationships and assets such as family businesses. She is a fully qualified Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) and an accredited Solicitor for the Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for the Elderly) and is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). Nicola also teaches on the core and advanced private client modules on the Diploma for Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde.
