PAUL CARNAN IS NEW DEAN OF ROYAL FACULTY

NEW DEAN FOR ROYAL FACULTY
Glasgow - 4 June, 2009.
Paul B. Carnan, Solicitor, is the new Dean of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow.
At its Annual General Meeting held at the Faculty Library today, the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow elected Paul B. Carnan, Solicitor, of Blaney Carnan Solicitors, 177-179 West George Street, Glasgow as its new Dean in succession to Gilbert Anderson, Solicitor.

At the same meeting, Members of Faculty elected Nicola Irvine (of Russells Gibson McCaffrey), Alison Forsyth (of Anderson Strathern LLP), Paul Reid (of Fleming & Reid), Mark Higgins (of Irwin Mitchell MNP) and Gordon Shearer (of McClure Naismith LLP MNP) to its Council or managing board.

The Faculty also elected The Rt. Hon. Lord Gill, Leslie Wolfson and Immediate Past Dean Gilbert M. Anderson as Honorary Members.

The Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow is one of the oldest legal societies in the UK having been incorporated “long prior to 1668”. It was incorporated anew by Royal Charter in 1796, and granted the use of the title “Royal” by George VI in 1950. It represents over 1,400 solicitors in Glasgow and West Central Scotland.
