Representatives of your Society's Council have been invited to a meeting on 1st December 2009 with the Scottish government Minister responsible for the passage of the Legal Services Bill.  One thing we would wish to present to the Scottish government is the result of our ongoing opinion survey.  If you have not yet responded to the opinion survey then it is crucial that you let us have your response before 1st December 2009 and if you click below you should reach a printable version of the opinion poll document which you should then complete and fax to the Secretary on 0141 353 3819.  Please complete the document legibly.

We are also concerned with the issues as to whether will writing,  petitions for Confirmation and personal injury claims handling should either be reserved to the legal profession or at least regulated to the same extent.  If you have any examples of wills (inadequately drawn or executed by non-qualified persons) or executry papers (complex executry petitions) or claims situations that might help Scottish ministers to see the relevant issues more clearly then please contact the Secretary so that we might arrange to put such evidence, suitably anonymised, before Scottish ministers.
