The President, Vice-President, Convener and Secretary met Mr. Richard Scott, the Chief executive of SLAB and members of his staff on 17th September. Among the matters discussed were, the new Code of Practice and registration, fixed fees, the Access to Justice Responses, the perceived difficulty of obtaining sanction for counsel in some civil cases, the proposals on how the proceeds of crime would be dealt with under the Proceeds of Crime Act, and cover for early pleas of guilty -ABWOR and Section 23 (1)(b). The Convener is to prepare a note for SLAB in connection with the latter.
